In 1992, the Executive Council of The Links, Incorporated approved the Solano County interest group known as the Carquinez Pacesetters. On January 29, 1994, The Solano County Chapter of the Links, Incorporated was chartered at the Concord Hilton Hotel. Link Marion Elizabeth Schultz Sutherland, National President; Link Thelma Rice, Western Area Director; and Link Marion Sweeney, Chapter Establishment Officer were present at the chartering ceremony.

The 24 charter members were; Angela Alexander, Maxine Box, Brenda Brumfield, Dorothy Brown, Raynola Brown, Thelma Brown, Karen Dyer, Lydia Elliot, Sylvia Harris, Wanda Hemmit, Carolyn Jackson, Fern Jackson, Dorothy Johnson, Sue King, Hattie Smith-Miles, Michelle Morgan, Juanita Perryman, Pamela Pitts, Elissa Shanks Stewart, Earnestine Warren, Millie Watson, Geneva Watts, Ursula Williams, and A. Marie Young.

The Solano County Chapter of the Links, Incorporated is a group of women linked together to form a strong chain of friendship and service. The organization is pledged to community service, academic excellence, cultural enrichment, advocacy, wellness, social action and women’s issues. As Links we endeavor to make a significant and positive difference in our community. From our inception to the present we enjoy the cooperation of our families and the support of the community. We understand that service and friendship are the tenets of our dynamic  sisterhood. We know in order to succeed, members must exhibit tenacity, lean on each other for support and never quit in times of adversity.
